How to identify paid leads vs organic leads on Infusionsoft?

Hi. We have the old Infusionsoft, which I think is now Max Classic. I am trying to find a way to distinguish the leads that come through our Google Ads paid ads from those who come from organic search. Can anyone help?

Very wide-open question … but … wherever you are capturing your data, you should have hidden fields to capture UTM data.
Set up Google organic as the default, but if you have an ad click, set up parameters in your Google ads to identify the UTM data you want to collect. The parameters will feed that to your landing page, where you data capture system should record that along with the data that is input by the customer. Feed that info custom fields in Keap Max Classic and you can then run reports on your lead sources.

Here is a good article on utm parameters:

As Jeff has suggested above, capturing data about where the lead came from with the form submission is definitely the best approach.

The problem with just capturing UTM parameters is it only tells you about leads that coem from paid channels, you get no information on leads that come from organic channels, and therefore have no way of determining what actually drove them (was it an organic Google search? Your latest post on LinkedIn? Was it Direct Traffic? Or a mention on another website?).

There are tools out there that can sole this for you (like attributer.io and others). They will pass through information on where the lead came from with each form submission. So like Organic Search, Paid Search, Paid Social, Organic Social, Direct Traffic, etc). All the same data you see in tools like Google Analytics.

You can then send that data into InfusionSoft/Keap and store it on the contact record. This will then allow you to see where each individual lead came from. And of course you can also use some sort of reporting tool to build charts and dashboards that show how many leads you got from Organic Search, or how many customers came from Paid Search, etc.
