Set a wait timer so that if the date field is empty then wait until it has a value and then fire the campaign. Is it possible?

You would have to only add them to that sequence when that field is populated.
There isn’t a functionality to wait until it is populated. It will simply skip anything after any Field Date timers that use that field.
