Using current versions of outlook and sync for outlook. When creating new tasks, appointments or notes through the plugin, we are unable to type in the text areas. Can focus the cursor, but no text entry available. Tested on several workstations with the same results.

Hello Craig! Customer service told me very politely that that feature, while still included is not supported and not expected to work. I did find a work-around however, if I right-click in the text field and allow the context menu to stay open, I am able to type in the field.
I guess that companies that sell software to improve client satisfaction are immune from keeping their own clients satisfied.
