Has anyone heard any update on the ‘deals’ change to the interface? We have begun using opportunities to track progress with each opportunity - and not having notes from unrelated opportunities showing up in an opportunity would be great.
Thanks,

I spoke with my account manager yesterday. You can switch to the new interface whenever you want. It’s a simple toggle on their end. Contact and Company Record from the current interface will transfer over EXCEPT Opportunity Record information. Opportunities and Deals are completely different capabilities, which is why the data won’t transfer. It should be easy to Export your Opportunity Record data from the current interface and then manually re-enter them as Deals in the new interface. Infusionsoft Customer Support can help you switch over.
How would you recommend exporting opportunity information? Was there an export function you used or did you printout some reports? Was there anything else you did to get ready for the switch? And do you like the new ‘deals’ paradigm?
Thanks,
We haven’t switched to the new platform yet, however I have played with the new platform in the trial version and it seems like it’ll work really well for us.
To export your opportunity info, just go to Opportunities > View Opportunities then don’t select anything for the search criteria and just hit the Search button. That will pull up all your opportunities in your system. Click the check mark on the upper left side of the results to select all your opportunities, then click on the Actions button, and then select Export. Every field for your opportunities should be selected on the next screen. Scroll down to Choose Format and select Excel. Then just strong textthe export and download the report. Now you have all your current Opportunity data exported.
Hi Lauren:
Thank you for the specifics! I recently spoke to my account manager and they recommended I open a sandbox account using the new interface. Now I can work in both systems learning which I like better and why. It’ll also help me test any imports or configurations. I thought I might put that here for anyone else thinking about making the switch.

Can you give me some more info on the sandbox account? It’s my understanding it’s a flip of the switch on the backend to go from old to new interface and you can only access one interface at a time since the switch is on the application itself. I’m most likely misunderstanding something so any additional info on the sandbox would be awesome. Thanks!
Hi Lauren:
I didn’t see your reply until now. Sorry! Did you figure it out? The way to think about my previous post is that I’m using the application in its present status. Then the sandbox account was setup. It’s effectively a second application, and this application was switched from existing to new interface. Consequently, when I sign into infusionsoft, I pick from two different applications. The first uses the existing interface with all of my company data. The second uses the new interface and has absolutely none of my company data. Does this make sense?

If you are in solution selling or using any of the established selling methodologies like Miller Heiman, then Lauren and Danielle right - normally referred to as an SSO (Single Sales Objective), it is common practice to keep everything associated with a given Sales pursuit together and separate from the general notes on a client - Maximizer CRM however clunky (although better now in the cloud) has been doing this for years! I would normally expect to be able to allocate bid team members for the SSO and log all notes and correspondence specific to that opportunity so it does not clog up the works and require users to read through reams of irrelevant notes to find the info they are seeking. I am questioning whether I should persist with our new Infusionsoft CRM/MA implementation based on this info. Sad as the service is excellent! The Dev Team probably need to get out and talk to Solution Salespeople.
Lauren, I realize this is an old post. What did you decide to do with using Opportunities?
