Is it possible to assign a contact as the primary contact for a company via the legacy XML-RPC API?

Is it possible to assign a contact as the primary contact for a company via the legacy XML-RPC API?

I’m able to create a company record and link a contact with that company, but can’t figure out what attribute to use to set it as the primary contact.

I apologize, but there is currently no method to modify the Primary Contact for a Company record via the API.

Sad. Any plans on that? It’s weird to have something on the UI that you can’t touch in the API - and it’s just a small feature under an already existing resource, the Contacts…

We do plan to offer more complete models in future versions of the API, but I can’t give any sort of timeline for that yet.

What is the utility of the primary contact option? From what I understand, it is not accessible via the API nor can automations be created based on it. What is the best use case for that feature? Presumably Infusionsoft added that functionality for a reason.

I’m not sure of the historical driver for it’s addition, and I have not seen much usage around it.
