Importing Updated Contacts Without Contact ID

I exported a list of clients, updated their information in Excel, in the process the Contact ID column was removed somehow and now I need to import these contacts back into InfusionSoft to update their information. How can I do this without the Contact ID in my new .csv file? WIll that duplicate records?

Two ways,

  1. you can do the import and then merge the contacts by email address (assuming you ensure emails to be unique among contacts)

or

  1. Use a vlookup method in Excel to corrolate the contact id before doing the import, which will then just update the contacts by id number. @Greg_Jenkins has a video on this:
