# Text Messaging within Campaigns - Merge Fields

I love the idea of adding a text message within a campaign, but I am having difficulties with adding the merged fields within the “insert template \> appointment reminder”. I do not understand where the fields are located for the merged fields.  
Hi . Just a reminder that your appointment is coming up on [[appointment.date]] at [[appointment.starttime]]. See you then!

I have a custom field built for the appointment date and time, but the program does not allow me to pull from my custom fields.

Please advise how I can pull the appointment date and time from merged fields.
