# Find who last Updated Contact Record using REST API

Is there a good way to tell which user made the most recent update to a Contact record via the API without using XML-RPC?

It looks like XML-RPC returns -1 for the System or an ID for the user. This is great, but isn’t that going away? What is in place to get at that data via REST?

Hi @Timothy_Smith, that is one of the gaps we’ve identified. I’ll give you an update as soon as `Last updated by` is available for contacts in v2.

For any big updates, I will post them in this forum. For known issues in the v2 API, we have our [known issues tracker](https://learn.thryv.com/hc/en-us/articles/42745881470477-Keap-REST-v2-API-known-issues-tracker) that is updated as we make progress on those items.

The known issues tracker has **Contacts | GET/POST/PATCH | Gap | Missing fields**. Is this the line item I should be watching for this, or is there something more specific for tracking this?

Hi @Timothy_Smith. We’ve released additional fields for the contacts resource, including: `update_time`, `utm_parameters`, `website`, `account_id`, `assistant_name`, `assistant_phone`,`billing_information`,` created_by`, `groups`, and `last_updated_by`.
